final statement

The came up with the title 'Achromatic Tranquility' because i believe it best describes the feeling or perception that my movie has, it means neutral and peaceful. It is the clean, white platforms and the soft rotating movements that give the movie this appearance and i then teamed it with the music "Relief" by Gurdonark which adds to this effect. The sounds are very still to start off with, almost mesmerizing and give a sense of seclusion and isolation, as the movie ends the music gets deeper and slightly more intense.

The beginning of my movie i wanted to have some mystery behind what my models looked like, so i started off with a dark underwater scene where i pan across the model slowly showing some of its form, after this we are taken out of the water into bright daylight creates a contrast. The models are then shown in an array of different shots panning up, down and around the models to really feel like you know the space, i then close my film by drifting through my models for the last time, slowly and ending with a darker time of day to show time change.

I made my animations simple rotations because it gives a dreamy and passive sense to the film, but also  because i felt it suited my models, especially the larger platforms, and i had some of them looking quite dormant. The animations are also deliberately not all synced together because i wanted to have my movements quite natural and not contrived or forced to look like it was doing a 'routine'.

for the texture i decided to stick with the initial 'shredded paper' look  because it is also quite organic suiting my movie and underwater it looks very interesting for my stating shots, almost resembling seaweed with the bright green coloring. Because my main texture was quite dominant i chose to leave my platform models white so that there was no clashing or competition between the two. I also chose to film my models in daylight to best showcase the textures and i feel like the sun and blue skies complete my overall feeling and look i was trying to achieve.
